Brilliant Minds but Economically Weaker – Scholarship Program!

 

‘c r e s k’ Merit scholarship program - “Brilliant Minds but Economically Weaker” was held on our 62nd Independence Day - Friday, 15 August, 2008 @ 05.30 PM at Shobana Kalyana Mandapam, No 74, Arya Gowda Road (Near Indian Bank), West Mambalam, Chennai –33.

 

57 Students who received ‘c r e s k’ “Brilliant Minds but Economically Weaker” Merit scholarship awards along with Special guests Thiru Aadirajaram, B.A, B.L, Tmt Sudha Jagadish, CEO, DAX Networks, Thiru ‘Makkal Kural’ Ramjee, Tmt Jayashree, President  ‘c r e s k’ 

                                                                            

Thiru Aadirajaram, B.A, B.L, Former TTDC Chairman presided over the function and inaugurated the function with lighting kuthu vilakku. Thiru Ramji, Editor, Makkal Kural, Tmt Jayashree, President ‘c r e s k’, Tmt Sudha Jagadish, Chief Operating Officer, DAX Networks were the special guests. Thought provoking speeches by the guests to the student’s community followed with the scholarship distribution of Rs. 1,07,057 (Rupees One Lakh seven thousand and fifty seven) and a pack of notebooks to 57 students from various parts of Chennai city who scored very good marks in their 10th Std. but comes from an economically weaker background. Close to 79% of the students were from corporation and government higher secondary schools. 51% of the scholarship awardees were girl students. This scholarship was aimed towards the student’s school fees / portion of fees, notebooks, guides and / or uniforms and to encourage brilliant minds but economically weaker.

Tmt. Madhuvanthi Arun, Correspondent, Mrs. YGP School, Tmt Sudha Ragunathan, the famous Carnatic Singer shared their wishes and blessings to this function.

Malathi Raghavan (Rs.21,500), Tmt V Radhamani (Rs.5,000), Tmt S Jayashree (Rs.42,000), Thiru N Veeraraghavan (Rs.3,000), Thiru Abdullah Baig (Rs.2,000), Thiru B Janakinath (Rs.14,000), Thiru Lakshmi Reddy (Rs.10,000), Thiru Diwakar (Pack of notebooks to 57 students), Thiru V Srivathsan (Rs.9,057), Thiru Ramarao (Rs.500) who made this scholarship program possible.
