'c r e s k' "Awareness Day" 2011

 

'c r e s k' conducted its awareness day for the 9th consecutive year in Chennai on 27th February 2011. This year the essay contest was conducted with a topic "What is my Role in eliminating Corruption and Bribe". Several  thousand schools and college students have participated in the contest.

 

A topic which is hot and need of the hour for every one of us today in the country - attracted more than 33000 young minds talents in the form of essays from various schools and colleges in Chennai and nearby districts.  This is a record number of participation 'c r e s k' ever had in the history of its past several years. 

 

Welcome address was given by Tmt. S Jayashree, M.Sc Medical Physics, President, 'c r e s k'  and given a speech with focus on "Be the Change you want to see in the society" to the students community and youngsters.  We are happy to see ' c r e s k' awareness creation message is reaching more and more people in the society, and significantly increasing year on year, she said during the welcome speech.

Shri Bhola Nath, IPS, DGP and Director, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption presided the "Awareness Day" Function, Dr. A.Azad, Deputy Director, Centre for International Affairs, Anna University and Smt. Revathy, Assistant General Manager, Indian Bank were the special guests and given speech as well distributed the awards to the students who won the awards on Essay Contest "What is my Role in Eliminating Corruption and Bribe"

About the Exclusive Essay Competition conducted by ‘c r e s k’ in Chennai and Nearby districts in 2010 - 11:

 ‘c r e s k’ conducted an exclusive Essay Competition for the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th,10th,11th and 12th Std. students and College Students of Chennai and Nearby districts during November 2010. Totally 33973 school and college students participated in the competition  from various parts of Chennai and Nearby districts. More than 70% (70.34%) participants are Girl Students! 40 Awards to students from various schools and colleges were distributed. Top 5 schools among the schools participated in Chennai and Nearby districts were selected and given special awards by Shri Bhola Nath, IPS, DGP and Director, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Coruuption. Principals of the respective schools received the awards.

 Shri Bhola Nath, IPS, DGP and Director, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Coruuption speaking on the occasion said, " The man who gives bribe is a bigger criminal than the one who accepts it".  He emphasised that cultural values and good company would play a bigger role in the upbringing of children. He also added that more people should actively participate in this awareness creation and profusely praised the 'c r e s k' team for conducting such laudable awareness creation in the society. He distributed the awards to the students who won the awards on the topic in Group 2

About the Scholarship and Educational Assistance given by 'c r e s k'

While 'c r e s k' focus area continue to be creating awareness to young minds, it also involve in assisting deserving students by means of scholarships and educational assistance.  As a part of awareness day, 'c r e s k' selected 16 students from 9th and 11th standard to offer educational assistance.

 

 Thiru V Srivathsan, Secretary ‘c r e s k’ mentioned about the importance about converting our weaknesses to positive points to create a flourishing India while delivering vote of thanks.
